inZOI’s October Update Gave Modders What They Asked For, Two Months Early
Krafton shipped inZOI v0.11.0 on October 15, and the piece that matters most is script mods. The 2026 roadmap had Lua-based scripting pencilled in for December. It came in October instead, which means the modding community now has a real hook into gameplay logic rather than just meshes and textures. For a game that has leaned on custom content since its March 2025 early access launch, this is the biggest single change to what mods can actually do.
In practice this is the moment inZOI stops being “a life sim with CC” and starts being moddable in the way Sims players understand the word. Lua scripts can touch behaviour, add interactions and change rules, and Krafton shipped sample scripts in the ModKit so authors have working references instead of a bare API. The studio has said the scope will expand in later updates.
It is hard not to compare this with the two biggest modding conversations of the month. The Sims 4 just launched its official paid Marketplace for creator content. Rockstar published rules for what a GTA 6 mod may and may not do before that game even has a PC version. Krafton’s approach sits in a third place: free, open, documented, and shipped ahead of schedule. For a studio that was accused of being slow to listen in the spring, that is a meaningful change of posture.

Everything else in v0.11.0
Krafton called this a “Mini Update,” which undersells it. The patch added 106 interaction objects, five new hairstyles and a set of mustaches, beards, makeup and masks. There is a new EnableFreeEditMode cheat that lifts placement restrictions in build mode, which builders have wanted since early access began. Zois can now be given autonomy plans, so you decide how much they do on their own, and door permissions let you control who can enter which rooms, both long-standing requests from Sims converts. A hotfix, v0.11.1, followed on October 20 with stability fixes for issues the main update introduced.

What to know before you install scripts
Script mods can break saves in ways cosmetic mods cannot, so back up your save folder before trying anything from the first wave. Expect a lot of churn through November as authors learn the API, and check that any script you download has been tested against v0.11.1 rather than the original v0.11.0 build. More content is due before the end of the year under the roadmap’s Fundamentals First plan, and Krafton has committed to seven to eight updates before the 1.0 release in early 2027.
